Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
This policy explains what the MyPhoneCam apps for iPhone and Android collect, why, where it is kept, and the choices you have. MyPhoneCam is made by CAIRVENE TECH in Singapore, and we handle personal data in line with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
The short version
- There is no account. You don't give us your name, email address or phone number.
- Clips your camera phone records are visible only to the two phones you paired. We don't look at them, sell them or use them for advertising.
- Clips are stored in the cloud so your other phone can play them, and they are deleted automatically as newer clips replace them and when you unpair.
- There are no ads and no advertising trackers in the apps.
What MyPhoneCam collects, and why
- Random identifiers and pairing details — used to pair your two phones and keep your data private to them. They are not linked to your name, email address or phone number.
- Video clips with audio, and their preview images — recorded when the camera detects motion, so you can watch them on your other phone. Each clip includes when it was recorded and how long it is.
- Camera snapshots — a still photo from the camera phone, used when you choose which parts of the picture to monitor.
- Camera status and settings — whether the camera is monitoring, when each phone was last online, and the camera's settings, used to show you that the camera is working and to apply changes you make from the viewing phone.
- A notification token — used to alert your viewing phone when a new clip is ready. Alerts contain no image or video.
- Diagnostic logs — technical information such as errors and performance, and a record of actions taken in the app, such as opening, saving or deleting clips, with the app version and phone platform. Used to fix problems and keep the app working well. They contain no clips, images or personal details.
- Information Google receives — Google, our cloud service provider, processes technical information such as IP addresses and device identifiers to store your data and send notifications. On Android, a QR code scanning component from Google also sends Google device and app information, an installation identifier, and performance and error data, which Google uses for its own diagnostics and analytics. See Google's Privacy Policy.
What we don't collect
MyPhoneCam does not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts or location. It does not read your photo library: on iPhone it can only add clips to Photos, and only when you ask it to. It contains no advertising, no advertising identifiers and no analytics of our own. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
Permissions the app asks for
- Camera — to record motion clips and to scan pairing QR codes.
- Microphone — to record audio with clips.
- Notifications — to alert the viewing phone when a new clip is ready.
- Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint — to unlock the camera phone's controls while it keeps monitoring. The app never receives your face or fingerprint data.
- Saving to Photos or your gallery — only when you choose to save a clip.
How we use it
Only to provide MyPhoneCam, as described above. We do not use your data to profile you or for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Who can see it, and where it is stored
Your pair's clips, snapshots, status and logs can be read only by the two phones in that pair. They are stored in the cloud by our service provider, Google, which may process data in Singapore and other countries and handles it on our behalf under its data processing terms.
We do not share your data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
How long it is kept
- Clips — only the newest clips are kept in the cloud, up to a limit you set (50 by default, adjustable from 10 to 500). Older clips are deleted automatically.
- Snapshots — replaced by the next snapshot.
- Diagnostic logs — deleted automatically within 8 days.
- Everything for a pair — clips, snapshots, status, settings, logs and the notification token are deleted from the cloud when you unpair, which can take until the camera phone is next online. If you no longer have the camera phone, email us and we will delete it.
- Random identifiers — kept while you use the app. We will delete them on request.
- On your phones — clips saved on your phones stay there until newer clips replace them, you delete them, or you uninstall the app. On Android, the app's data may be included in your device backup if you have backup turned on.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and is encrypted where it is stored, and access is limited to your two paired phones. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
Your choices and rights
- Unpair your phones at any time to delete your pair's data from the cloud.
- Delete clips from the app, or lower the clip limit to keep fewer.
- Turn off notifications, or camera and microphone access, in your phone's settings.
- Under the PDPA you may ask to access or correct personal data we hold about you, or withdraw your consent. Email us from the address you want us to reply to, and tell us which data you mean — because there are no accounts, we may ask for details that let us find it, such as the device ID shown in the app.
Recording other people
MyPhoneCam records video and audio of whatever is in front of the camera phone. You are responsible for using it lawfully, including where you place it and letting people know if they may be recorded.
Children
MyPhoneCam is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update it on this page and change the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will take reasonable steps to let you know before it takes effect.
